Sabure

Sabure is a young pastry maker who lives and works in the freshly built section of Konohagakure. He belongs to a family of confectioners rooted in that new city district.

Sabure comes across as gentle and earnest, a young man who would rather smooth over conflict than deepen it. He is devoted to Yubeshi and set on marrying her, yet he cares enough about family that he wants both grandfathers present and happy at the wedding rather than eloping. When the quarrel drags on, he is the one urging his grandfather to make amends.

Sabure grew up in Konohagakure's new city and fell for Yubeshi, granddaughter of Ohagi, who had once been a friend of Sabure's own grandfather Taruto over in the old town. As tensions hardened between the two neighborhoods over a festival fireworks display, the young couple grew afraid to tell either grandfather about their romance, even though they had already settled on a wedding day. When Taruto and the new-city crowd clashed with Ohagi and the old-town side, Sabure and Yubeshi tried to pull them apart. Yubeshi eventually enlisted Kakashi to settle the feud by dangling a rare first-edition Icha Icha volume, and it was Sabure who filled Kakashi and Boruto in on how the fireworks rivalry began. A later attempt to reconcile the elders by recreating their old dango shortcake recipe fell flat, and the couple refused Kakashi's suggestion to simply elope, wanting the grandfathers' blessing instead. Kakashi finally recast the dispute as a contest, which drained the bitterness out of it, and Sabure pressed Taruto to patch things up with Ohagi so the wedding could happen. The plea startled both elders into making peace, and they attended their grandchildren's marriage.
