Sakanami

Sakanami is a man of average build with short brown hair, sideburns, and a stubbled face set off by full lips. For his work in the mine he dressed in a grey turtleneck, dark trousers, and a tool-laden belt, rounding out the look with gloves, boots, and a white cord tied around his head.

Greed and cruelty drive Sakanami, who exploited the trusting nature of his boss Onami, a man careless enough never to check his criminal past. Fixated on pulling off the gold heist, he seethed when Konoha shinobi threatened to spoil it, brushing the young ninja off as fools. For all that he and Tatsunami seem evenly matched, Sakanami appears to be the one under his partner's thumb, a gap laid bare when Tatsunami chose to guard the loot rather than aid him in his defeat.

Sakanami was among the workers in the mine when Onami brought Denki's team down to it. Realising the gold-stealing plan was collapsing, he and Tatsunami snatched the treasure from its cache, sealed the chief and the others inside, and fled to the shore to ready a hovercraft. Denki's robots and Team 5 gave chase, slowing the fleeing boat with elongated arms and a net; Sakanami gunned the engine and almost broke free before Iwabee shattered it with a stone hammer. The craft capsized, and Metal Lee brought him down with little trouble. Beyond wielding a knife, he shows scant combat ability of his own.
