Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke is pale-skinned, with dark eyes and spiky black hair that he has kept long and fringed since boyhood; as he ages the fringe lengthens to shadow more of his face, and after gaining the Rinnegan he grows it out to hide his left eye entirely. Most girls have found him strikingly handsome since he was young, and Hashirama Senju once noted his close resemblance to Izuna Uchiha.

The Uchiha crest tends to sit somewhere on his clothing, often at the collar. Through much of Part I he favours a navy high-collared shirt with white shorts, switching in Part II to darker, Orochimaru-influenced garb of blue cloth, arm guards, and a rope belt. He forfeits his left arm as the Fourth Shinobi World War ends and, unlike Naruto, declines a prosthetic. In adulthood he dons a dark cloak with purple lining over a grey shirt and vest, a fingerless glove worn on his one surviving hand, and lets his forehead protector hang from his hip. He also grows notably tall, edging out even Naruto.

Sasuke began as a cheerful boy who worshipped his older brother Itachi. The massacre of the clan crushed him, and Itachi's claim to have never loved him set him on a years-long path of revenge that turned him cold, detached, and dismissive of anyone he judged weaker. Though Kakashi's lessons on teamwork briefly softened him within Team 7, the manipulations of Orochimaru and a crushing defeat by Itachi pushed him to sever every tie and abandon Konoha for pure strength.

Learning that Itachi had slaughtered their family under the village's orders, and out of love, to protect him, tipped Sasuke into hatred aimed at Konoha itself, and his fall to darkness eroded much of his old decency. He came to imagine himself as a lone True Hokage who would absorb the world's hatred, until Naruto proved their bond too fundamental to break. Choosing at last to live and atone, Sasuke begins fighting for the village's future and takes up Itachi's habit of poking the foreheads of those he loves. He reconciles with and marries Sakura, fathers Sarada, and mentors Boruto, though guilt over his past never fully leaves him. As an adult he grows wiser, warmer, and more caring beneath a deadpan exterior, while retaining a reputation for ruthlessness toward criminals.

A natural prodigy who topped his Academy class, Sasuke is likened to Madara Uchiha in potential and, in adulthood, regarded as one of the two strongest shinobi in history alongside Naruto, his only equal. He is a lethal swordsman and shurikenjutsu expert whose speed and reflexes let him overwhelm opponents before they can act, and he continues to fight on par with Otsutsuki foes even after losing an arm. Orochimaru's experiments left him resistant to poison, and the Cursed Seal of Heaven once boosted his power at a steep cost before Itachi removed it.

His nature transformation spans an Uchiha's mastery of Fire Release and his signature Lightning Release, home to the Chidori and its many derivatives; after gaining the Rinnegan he wields all five basic natures plus Yin Release. His dojutsu are his crown: a Sharingan that copies movement and casts genjutsu, a Mangekyo Sharingan that grants Amaterasu and the spectral Susanoo, later made eternal with Itachi's eyes, and a Rinnegan that unlocks the Six Paths techniques and the space-time power Amenotejikara for swapping places or crossing between dimensions. With Six Paths chakra he forms a colossal Complete Body Susanoo and unleashes Indra's Arrow, his single most devastating strike. A famously analytical mind, praised even by Madara and Jigen, ties the whole arsenal together.
