Appearance

Small in stature, Suzu has red hair cut to about shoulder length and eyes of a soft purple. Her outfit pairs a white suit over a red turtleneck, with a pink scarf knotted at her throat. Fittingly for a girl whose name means bell, two little white bells are tucked into her hair.

Personality

Curiosity drives Suzu, and any fresh gossip about her classmates immediately grabs her attention. She and her brother move almost as one, reacting to a new rumour at the same instant and even mirroring each other's expressions. The two siblings push against one another in a friendly rivalry, yet they stay so attached that the thought of being separated leaves them uneasy.

History

Suzu enrolls in a new Academy class that opens under the guidance of the teacher Hana Kaka, a group packed with the children of notable figures, among them the offspring of an acting duo, the Seventh Hokage's daughter, and Kae Yukiwari, princess of the Land of Bamboo, plus the older student Kawaki. At a tea party held at Kae's home, Suzu joins her classmates in applauding when Kae drops her stiff, proper act and speaks her mind, finding the honest version far more likeable.

She and Ran later tag along with students exploring the Academy's Seven Mysteries after dark, only to bolt when Batora fakes one of them using water and fake blood in a bathroom. In a practical exercise she is grouped under Eiki with Neon, and their trio takes first place in a tree-climbing relay. When a scuffle between Eiki and Kawaki wrecks the stage being prepared for the class play about the Sannin, Suzu pitches in on the repairs. For the school festival, the twins turn their brush with the Seven Mysteries into a haunted house booth built alongside Harika and Neon, and they shelter indoors when a terror threat disrupts the day.

After their teacher is hospitalised by the attack, Suzu helps welcome Hana back, and the class is sent for survival training on a deserted island as a replacement for the cancelled festival. Injuries to Kikuchiyo and the disappearance of their food supplies stir fears of rogue ninja hiding nearby, prompting everyone to split up to gather provisions and later hunt for Neon's broken drone. When Kawaki and Himawari reveal that Hana is secretly an assassin who has killed Kae, the students band together to track the pair to a cave, then push on to the docks hoping to raise the alarm. They meet Sai, arrived with Team 25 after uncovering Hana's Land of Bamboo ties, and with her students' encouragement Hana's true teaching self reclaims control from the assassin within her. With Kae bound for home, the class at last stages its Sannin play and sees her off at the train station. Combined, the names Suzu and Ran spell Suzuran, meaning lily of the valley.
