Ran Sōgi

Small in stature, Ran has blue eyes framed by cropped blue hair. His outfit layers a white suit over a dark blue turtleneck, with a blue scarf knotted at his throat.

Curiosity drives him, and any fresh rumor about his classmates seizes his attention. He and Suzu move almost as one, mirroring each other's expressions and reactions in perfect step. The twins compete fiercely, yet stay so attached that the prospect of spending time apart unsettles them both.

Ran enrolls at the Academy's opening ceremony among a class placed under the new teacher Hana Kaka, a group packed with notable offspring, among them the Seventh Hokage's daughter and Kae Yukiwari, princess of the Land of Bamboo, alongside the older student Kawaki. He and his classmates come to admire Kae's blunt, honest side after she stands up for a friend at a tea party. When the students probe the Academy's Seven Mysteries by night, Ran and Suzu flee a staged scare and later recount the ordeal to the class.

The twins channel that experience into a haunted-house booth for the school festival, which a terrorist threat forces them to shelter through. After Hana is hospitalized, the class travels to an uninhabited island for survival training, where vanished food supplies and rumors of killer missing-nin stoke fear. The students eventually discover Hana is an assassin who has taken Kae, and they band together to trace the pair to a cave. Once Sai and Team 25 subdue Hana, her teacher self overcomes the killer within thanks to her students' encouragement, and the class at last stages its long-delayed play about the Sannin before seeing Kae off home.
