CharacterTora is the pampered pet cat of Madam Shijimi, wife of the Fire Daimyo. Smothered with too much affection, she bolts at every chance, making her recapture the bane of countless genin D-rank missions.
Appearance
Brown fur and amber eyes mark this cat, along with a red ribbon tied to her right ear that gives her away every time. A stripe runs down her forehead crossed by a couple of shorter lines, rendered as three in the anime, and Shippuden lightens those head markings.
Personality
Madam Shijimi lavishes such crushing affection on Tora, nearly hugging the breath out of her, that the cat seizes any opening to escape.
History
Retrieving the runaway became a job for Team Kakashi in their early days, and when they cornered her, Naruto and Sasuke pounced to grab the squirming cat before delivering her back to her doting owner, much to Tora's dismay. In the anime she gave Team Ebisu no less trouble, tasked with catching and returning her seven separate times, each hunt dragging on longer than the last as the cat grew ever craftier at hiding. Her name is simply the Japanese word for tiger.
