Cloaking himself in the fox's chakra, Naruto slips into his one-tailed form while hunting for Deidara. Remembering Jiraiya's warning about the cloak, Kakashi knows he must halt the change before a second tail sprouts. When it does, the surge burns Naruto's shadow clones and he tears through the surrounding trees. Kakashi drops in, dodges Naruto's wild strike, and presses a suppression seal to his forehead protector, choking off the chakra and returning him to normal.

As Naruto steadies, Sakura and Chiyo appear with news that Sasori has fallen. Stunned that two kunoichi bested him, Deidara tries to sneak away, only for Team Guy, guided by Neji's Byakugan, to cut him off. Armless yet nimble, he evades most of them before Neji lands a Vacuum Palm.

Surviving the blow, Deidara reaches his clay bird, bites off a chunk, and swells into a massive self-detonation. With Team Guy unable to outrun the blast, Kakashi warps the explosion into another dimension with Kamui, collapsing from the strain on his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Naruto's clones return carrying Gaara's body, and he begs Sakura to revive him, but her efforts fail. Overcome, Naruto rounds on Chiyo and Sunagakure for sealing Shukaku inside Gaara and disregarding his life. His words strike deep in Chiyo, the very person who performed that sealing, and she resolves to bring Gaara back at the price of her own life.

The episode adapts chapters 277 and 278 within the Kazekage Rescue Mission arc. Naruto's outburst frames the human cost of creating jinchuriki, setting up Chiyo's atonement through the One's Own Life Reincarnation. It opens on Hero's Come Back and closes on The Way to You All.
