Big Adventure! The Quest for the Fourth Hokage's Legacy Part 2

Naruto, Sakura, and Team 10 push through one hazard after another in their bid to claim the hidden technique and top the record the Fourth Hokage supposedly set, though Naruto's rash choices keep dragging the group into fresh trouble. Deep inside the temple, fifteen shinobi from Amegakure ambush them from behind and unleash Grudge Rain, flooding the chamber to wash the intruders out. To sharpen Sasuke's aim on moving targets, Kakashi dispatches him to the same temple, where he cuts loose with the Chidori against the Rain ninja.

When the group finally recovers the scroll, its message reads simply that no shortcuts exist on the path to becoming a ninja. The others grasp that Guy engineered the entire ordeal to hone their skills, and reflect on how they set out chasing separate ambitions yet finished united in hoping any Konoha shinobi might pass the exams. Naruto, characteristically, decides the words really mean he should run the whole gauntlet again, this time by the longer road.

This second half closes the filler two-parter with its tongue-in-cheek moral rather than any actual secret jutsu. The episode carries several continuity gaps, among them Choji taking part in a hunt that overlaps his hospital stay and Kakashi's advice about the Chidori contradicting the later exam strategy. It shares its themes with the first part, opening on A World That Was Transparent and closing with Transient Fireworks, and first aired in Japan on 29 July 2010.
