Prologue of Road to Ninja

Tobi confers with Zetsu over a scaled-down test of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, noting that the technique first requires knowing what its intended victim craves. He turns his Telescope Technique toward Naruto and catches the young shinobi killing time indoors, playing cards with a pair of shadow clones. Not far away, Team Guy wraps up an assignment, and Tenten floats the idea of unwinding at the public bath. Rock Lee passes on it to keep training, but while running through his routine he spots a glum Naruto and decides the whole group should gather at the baths so their friend will not feel alone.

The outing quickly slides into chaos. On the women's side Sakura envies Hinata's figure while urging her to loosen up, and on the men's side Akamaru, disguised as Kiba, leaves the floor slick with soap. Choji slips, tumbles into the water, and sends it sloshing over the edge, forcing Shikamaru to have him enlarge himself to restore the level.

Lee crashes through the ceiling above the changing area and lands before a furious Ino, and the girls brand him a peeping tom. Naruto defends his friend, explaining that Lee only arranged the trip so he would not feel isolated, yet a bra snagged on his towel convinces Sakura he is the real thief, and she pummels him. The evening ends with the boys stopping by for cards, after which Naruto sinks back into loneliness, wishing they had stayed to share a meal. Having finally read what Naruto desires, Tobi, ringed by Zetsu clones taking the shapes of the Akatsuki, sets the limited Infinite Tsukuyomi in motion.

The episode functions as an anime lead-in to Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, framing how the film's dream world is triggered. It aired in Japan on 2 May 2013 and in English on 19 September 2015, opening with Not Even Sudden Rain Can Defeat Me and closing with I Can Hear.
