A lighter Boruto chapter spotlights Inojin Yamanaka, whose shaky command of his clan's mind-swapping technique becomes a personal challenge. With coaching from his parents and gentle prodding from Chocho, the young ninja confronts a habit of giving up before he even begins.
A nighttime ambush sets things off when Team 10 corners a criminal, Shikadai correctly reading where the man will flee. The fugitive grabs a hostage and threatens to kill them, and with clouds swallowing the moon Shikadai loses the shadow his jutsu needs. He tells Inojin to try the Mind Body Switch Technique, but the boy stalls, remembering how poorly it has gone before. The moon returns just in time for Shikadai to pin the criminal so Chocho can knock him out. The next day the two teams trade stories, and a small spat over Inojin letting Chocho finish his cold fries hints at something bothering him. He denies that Shikadai reaching chunin first has gotten under his skin.
Motivated by Chocho showing new interest in her own clan's methods, Inojin asks his mother Ino to help him drill the Mind Body Switch Technique, and she is thrilled. She demonstrates on a tanuki, which Inojin controls with no trouble, yet when he targets Chocho he cannot stop her from devouring her favorite chips. Sai suggests he practice his Super Beast Imitating Drawing instead, and Inojin agrees.
Ino and Sai then fall into an argument over how to teach him, she pushing willpower and he demanding logical explanation, while the kids look on and try in vain to break it up. Chocho dares Inojin to take one of them over, and after a botched attempt on Ino he slips into his father's body to speak with her, only for his generic apology to make her angrier. Trying again on Ino, he admits he has never mastered the technique and confesses he took it up after hearing she once rescued Sai with it, wanting the power to shield others. Chocho quietly coaches Sai, who hugs Ino; flustered, she drops the fight and praises her son's effort. Inojin promises Chocho a burger and fries. The following day, while pretending to refuse a demonstration for Team 7, he weaves the seals beneath the table, hijacks Chocho, and cheerfully eats the fries in her body.
Team 10 captures the fugitive after the moonlight returns to power Shikadai's shadow. Inojin begins formal training on the Mind Body Switch Technique with Ino and Sai, and reveals his motivation stems from Ino's own past rescue of Sai. He finally lands the jutsu on Chocho, closing the episode by controlling her long enough to eat her fries himself.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
The episode is inconsistent in how it portrays the technique. It first shows the mechanic correctly, with Inojin going limp while he controls Chocho, then later depicts him staying conscious as he battles her craving for potato chips, before returning to the normal rendering.
The Mind Transfer jutsu, known as the Mind Body Switch Technique, is a Yamanaka clan technique that lets the user's mind take over a target's body while their own body goes limp. In this episode, Inojin Yamanaka trains to master the technique with help from his parents, Ino and Sai.
In "The Mind Transfer Jutsu that Lost to Potato Chips," Team 10 captures a fugitive before Inojin begins training on the Mind Body Switch Technique with his parents. He eventually lands the jutsu on Chocho and cheerfully eats her potato chips in her body.
By the end of the episode, Inojin successfully masters the Mind Body Switch Technique. He uses it to take control of Chocho's body and eat her fries, after struggling with the jutsu throughout the episode.
Inojin reveals he took up the Mind Body Switch Technique after hearing that his mother Ino once used it to rescue Sai, and he wants that same power to protect others. His confession moves Ino, who drops her argument with Sai and praises her son's effort.
Shikadai Nara correctly predicts where the fleeing criminal will go, but clouds block the moon and cost him the shadow his jutsu needs. When the moon returns, Shikadai pins the criminal so Chocho can knock him out.
