Overview
The Kinkaku Force is a handpicked unit of no fewer than twenty accomplished ninja serving Kumogakure. The squad takes its name from Kinkaku, whose own title echoes the "Golden Horn" figure of the classic tale Journey to the West.
Role
During the First Shinobi World War, the force hunted down a Konoha Escort Unit and boxed it in on the battlefield. To let his comrades slip free, the Second Hokage stayed behind as a decoy, a stand that cost him his life at the hands of Kinkaku himself.

Kinkaku leads the squad and lands the blow that fells the Second Hokage. The rest are drawn from Kumogakure's strongest fighters, making the group a counterpart to other renowned village units such as the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the Twelve Guardian Ninja.
