Team 5

Placed under Udon Ise in the Leaf Village, this genin cell consists of Metal Lee, Denki Kaminarimon, and Iwabee Yuino. During the Chunin Exams the group is eliminated in the second round by Team Shinki. When Denki later earns his chunin promotion, he steps up as captain and the squad continues as a trio.

Their assignments cover the usual genin spread. A first outing has them helping a villager with farm work, and they take part in the shared hunt for the Byakuya Gang, though that effort is cut short after Iwabee ignores orders, gets Metal hurt, and lands the team a suspension. Once the Hokage lifts the penalty, they appear in a documentary meant to boost thinning Academy enrolment. A delivery job goes badly when Metal's anxiety causes him to fumble a valuable plate and nearly drop a Ming vase as well.

Other tasks show more range. They corral a loose panda during Kawaki's genin trial, an errand he sleeps through, and they are sent to ferry Katasuke Tono's autonomous puppets to Doto Island in the Land of Water. That mission is derailed when the Funato clan invades, forcing an evacuation, after which the team pitches in during the fighting between Kirigakure and the Funato.

Udon Ise heads the team, later handing the captaincy to Denki Kaminarimon. Metal Lee carries his father's taijutsu talent alongside a crippling case of stage fright, Iwabee Yuino brings earth-style toughness and a stubborn streak, and Denki supplies technical smarts.
