Gabel keeps his hair cropped to just below the ears and sports a heavy mustache. As a servant of the household, he is most often seen in formal attire, a tailored suit befitting his station.

Little is recorded of the man's inner character. He comes across as quiet and industrious, devoted to Lord Orden's service, and clearly accomplished across many fields, as shown when he was handed the job of coaching Stark in the manners expected at a ball.

A month before Frieren's group reached Vorig, Gabel fought in a sizable clash against demons, and he was among the handful who saw Lord Orden grieve over his fallen son, Wirt, on the field. When Orden stops the travelers outside the fortified city, Gabel is at his side, and he spends the following days schooling Stark and Fern in etiquette ahead of the estate's ball, set three months out. Once the event passes, Orden sends him to hand over the party's reward, and Gabel trails along as they pick a grimoire from the collection. He waits in silence for half a day while Frieren agonizes over the choice, until he looks thoroughly worn out.
