Kisa's Mother

Middle-aged and fair-skinned, she wears her straight dark brown hair loose, with bangs draped across her forehead. Her light brown eyes look weary yet calm.

Fiercely protective of Kisa, she is first seen frayed and worn down, so overwhelmed by her daughter's troubles that she nearly gives up. Tohru's words pull her back to herself, and after a short spell of distance between mother and daughter, she settles into the loving, attentive parent she truly is, watching over Kisa with quiet devotion.

After Shigure telephoned to say Kisa had run off once more, she confronted her daughter in tiger form and pressed her on why she had fled, abandoned school, and hidden the bullying, admitting she could no longer cope. Tohru stepped into the conversation and gave voice to Kisa's unspoken fears, moving both mother and daughter to tears. The two then spent several days apart to work through their respective pain.

During Kisa's stay at Shigure's house, her mother phoned Tohru to make sure the girl was eating, noting that Kisa dislikes dry food but loves eggs with chives. Weeks later, she cheerfully told Hiro that Kisa was having a sleepover at Shigure's and had grown quite taken with Tohru. Her rapport with Hiro is warm enough that he is comfortable spending time with her even when Kisa is not around.
