Bido

Bido is a small, bald man whose skin carries odd patches of discoloration and whose fingernails have grown long. Spliced with gecko genes, though less cleanly than the chimeras made after him, he trails a long reptilian tail that he tucks beneath a beggar's cloak, and grip pads along his palms and soles let him cling to and scale flat, sheer surfaces with ease.

For all his monstrous origins, Bido is cowardly, gentle, and deeply attached to Greed's gang, whom he cherishes as true friends. His timid nature and total lack of military discipline suggest he was never a soldier before his transformation. Above everything he is loyal, holding tight to the memory of his comrades even after everything else has been taken from him.

Bido first meets Edward and Alphonse in Dublith, sent by Greed to gather information; posing as a beggar, he gives himself away by mentioning Al's armor body, uses his tail to knock Al's head clean off, confirming the suit is hollow, then scales a wall and escapes. In the manga and 2009 anime he happens to be outside when King Bradley's forces storm Devil's Nest, and he alone lives through the slaughter. Clinging to the underside of a military car, he rides up to Central and searches the tunnels beneath Command, where the guard chimeras accept him as one of their own. His wandering finally brings him face to face with Greed, who no longer recognizes him. Bido proves who he is by reciting Greed's old oath to avarice from memory, letting his guard down, only for the new Greed to run him through and coldly deny ever knowing him. His death stirs the buried memories of the original Greed, who cradles the body and screams in grief.

In the 2003 anime Bido instead keeps spying for Greed and joins forces with Solf J. Kimblee to seize Wrath from Southern Headquarters, refusing to let Kimblee turn him into a bomb. He dies alongside most of the other chimera when the military raids Devil's Nest, and a human counterpart of him later appears among Alfons Heiderich's fellow scientists in The Conqueror of Shamballa.
