Central Command is the supreme authority of Amestris, the seat from which the Fuhrer and his generals rule the nation's military dictatorship. Behind its walls, a secret cabal spent decades plotting the country's destruction in exchange for immortality.
Central Command occupies a sprawling compound at the very heart of the capital, Central City. Ringed by a moat and raised atop an enclosed, pyramid-shaped structure, it serves at once as the military's headquarters and as the private residence of Fuhrer King Bradley. The site broadcasts the authority of the regime that governs Amestris.
The body stands at the apex of the Amestrian dictatorship, wielding absolute law and total command over every military operation. It is made up of the sitting Fuhrer and a circle of generals answering directly to him. For decades, a clique within that circle pursued a sinister design: to engineer the nation's ruin and trade the lives of its trusting citizens for immortality through a colossal Philosopher's Stone.
The scheme came to a head on the Promised Day, when the soldiers of Briggs joined Colonel Mustang's forces in storming the compound. As Father ascended, the decisive battle unfolded amid the wreckage of Central's courtyard. King Bradley fell there, along with most of the command's ranks. In the aftermath, Brigadier Generals Edison and Klemin were brought to trial as chief conspirators for their pact with the homunculi, and Grumman rose to take the office of Fuhrer.
