Cremin

Cremin appears as a senior officer of the Amestrian State Military, holding the rank of Brigadier General within Central Command and wearing its standard uniform. Little beyond his military bearing is detailed about his look.

Cremin is a cold and merciless commander who cares only about winning. He hands down brutal orders without concern for the cost, willing to gun down rebels, to fire on Mrs. Bradley if it serves him, and to shell a residential district full of civilians. Beneath the harsh exterior is a coward: once Father's design begins to consume him and he is still a prisoner, he panics and begs to be placed at the center so he will not die. Fittingly, his name reads as ironic, since clemency means mercy, which he plainly lacks.

As a member of the Amestrian high command, Cremin knows all about Father's scheme for the Promised Day and has quietly traded his nation away in exchange for a promise of immortality. He is tasked with tracking down and detaining Izumi Curtis so she can be turned into a human sacrifice, and he directs the ground forces when Roy Mustang's platoon storms Central Command. Caring only for victory, he orders the rebels wiped out, spares Mustang alone because a sacrifice is needed, and moves to shell civilians near the command gate.

Captain Buccaneer's soldiers from Briggs eventually seize Cremin and hold him captive in Chapter 96, cutting him off just as he is about to call a strike on the Briggs Tank despite the civilians nearby. When the eclipse finally comes and he is still a captive, he grows frantic and pleads to be shifted to the center. His soul is among the millions that Father takes in as the Promised Day reaches its climax, but Van Hohenheim's efforts restore him to life, badly disoriented. In the aftermath, he and fellow Brigadier General Edison are the last two members of Central Command still standing, and both are arrested and branded the masterminds of a plot to wipe out the whole population of Amestris.
