Logue Lowe

Lowe holds the highest religious office among the Ishvalans, revered as the Grand Cleric and regarded by the faithful as a living prophet of their god Ishvala. He is also addressed by the title of Supreme Cleric.

His defining trait is self-sacrifice. Convinced that offering himself up might halt the killing of his people, he willingly steps out of hiding and into enemy hands. That conviction, that a single surrender could stop a war, is precisely what Bradley twists into an accusation of arrogance.

As the Ishval Massacre begins, Lowe withdraws into the region's wilds to keep the faith intact, staying hidden for eight years. When the bloodshed only worsens, he reemerges intending to give himself over to the Fuhrer in the hope of ending the conflict. He first reaches Captain Maes Hughes, who brings him to Brigadier General Fessler, but Fessler dismisses the plea outright. Colonel Basque Grand then murders Fessler, seizes command, and delivers Lowe to King Bradley. Bradley rejects the offer with contempt, scoffing that no single life could be weighed against tens of thousands of Ishvalans, and orders the cleric and his companions executed. Lowe warns that divine wrath will punish Bradley's cruelty, a curse that folds back onto himself when, blinded by the sun that stands as a symbol of his god, he falls to Scar, the man who would name himself the wrath of God.
