Madame Christmas

Chris Mustang, known to nearly everyone as Madame Christmas, is a stout, gruff older woman rarely seen without a cigarette and marked by a small mole on her face. She runs a hostess bar in Central City that Colonel Roy Mustang frequents.

Blunt and rough around the edges, she is the paternal aunt who raised Roy as her own after both his parents died while he was small, and she still speaks to him sharply. For all that gruffness she is deeply invested in him, proud of the man she brought up and quietly anxious about the dangerous road his ambitions have set him on.

Her bar looks at first like nothing more than evidence of Mustang's indulgent habits, but the women working under her double as a covert web of informants, and Madame Christmas herself is a capable intelligence operative who links Roy with Lieutenant General Grumman over in the east. Knowing both her nephew's aims and the schemes of those hunting him, she feeds Roy a crucial last piece of information ahead of the Promised Day, confirming that Selim Bradley is the Homunculus Pride. The two then slip beneath the bar and detonate it as a cover, letting Roy vanish undercover while the blast takes out spies dispatched by the military's upper ranks. Before fleeing east toward Xing for safety, she bids her nephew farewell by telling him she now expects even greater things from him.
