History
Meissner serves as personal butler to Jude, the man known as the Blind Alchemist, who went blind after attempting a human transmutation to bring back his dead daughter, Rosalie. In the wake of that failure, the family took in an orphan girl and named her Rosalie so that Jude would believe his transmutation had worked and could live out his days happily. Meissner and the household devote themselves to giving Jude the best remaining life they can manage, knowing he must never learn what truly became of the real Rosalie.
