Briggs Tank

The Briggs Tank ranks among the freshest pieces of Amestrian military hardware, developed right where it matters most, along the front lines of the Briggs Mountain Range in the country's far north. It stands as the first mobile war machine of its kind, a fighting vehicle built around strong armament and protective plating.

Its defensive shell likely draws on the composite steel alloys that Fort Briggs' research and development wing was busy perfecting. The plating is painted a pale grey to help it blend into the snowbound terrain.

Despite its compact build, the tank moves nimbly and can pick up speed in a hurry. Its firepower comes from a main gun mounted in the turret backed by a machine gun set in the hull front. A small crew of three runs it, splitting duties between a driver, a machine gunner, and a commander who also serves as the main gunner.

The vehicle proved its worth during the winter of 1914 in its debut trial, deployed against a formidable unknown attacker striking the base from underground. It kept performing well into the following spring, helping Briggs troops clear obstacles on their push toward Central Command, until it ultimately met its match against the homunculus Wrath.

The tank serves the forces of Fort Briggs, who field it both in defense of their stronghold and during their advance south toward the capital. Its crews put it to use against the base intruder in its first outing and against the threats encountered on the road to Central.

Its design nods heavily to real German armor, evoking wartime models such as the Panzer line, complete with sloped plating and side skirts, which fits the broader German flavor woven through Amestris.
