Summary

Mustang moves to finish Envy, only for Edward, Scar, and Hawkeye to hold him back, cautioning that his craving to avenge Hughes must not rule him. Cornered, Envy jeers and tries to bait the group into turning on one another, demanding to know why they refuse to fight. Edward looks down at the creature with something close to pity and tells it the plain truth, that Envy envies humans even as it pretends to sneer at them. Struck by the words, the shaken homunculus ends its own existence by coughing up the Philosopher's Stone at its core.
