Takao Ochi

Ochi presents a tidy, corporate image. His hair and eyes are brown, and he wears dark upper-rimmed glasses above a pale gray suit, a black necktie, and clean dress shoes.

Beneath the manager's polish sits a self-serving operator. He wields his rank to override staff decisions and belittles subordinates who slow things down, and he funnels the money he skims into keeping a mistress.

Ochi first steps in when his guard, Nishida, is stuck at the entrance with a customer whose PIN will not clear. Pulling rank, he waves the customer through, scolds Nishida for jamming up the line, and walks off. He is one of the few humans still employed at the branch and reserves Thursdays for a private appointment of his own. Batou eventually uncovers how Ochi tricked Nishida and his companions into moving their savings into cryptocurrency while gouging them with steep withdrawal fees, and that they are far from his only marks. Batou strikes back by supplying seed money so that Nishida, an elderly woman called Kaede, and a set of robbers can take out cryptocurrency loans through QWE over in America, then dump the holdings for a large gain. The fallout pins the resulting bank robbery on Ochi, who is arrested for it.
