Jorgun and Balinbow Bakusa

The Bakusa brothers tower over the rest of the team, identical in their hulking builds and nearly identical in dress. Eyewear is the giveaway: Jorgun, the elder, favors red lenses, while the younger Balinbow wears blue ones.

Enthusiasm is the twins' default state. They stay permanently fired up, expressing themselves through grunts, bellows, and clipped one-word replies rather than conversation. Their courage runs deeper than their vocabulary; when certain death arrives, they choose to face it laughing.

Rumors of a rebel tearing through the Beastman army in a hijacked Gunman inspire the brothers to steal one of their own. They find Kamina, fold into the newly christened Team Dai-Gurren, and take part in the operation to seize the Dai-Gunzan, opening the assault by heaving boulders into the defending ranks before wading into the fight themselves.

The twins keep serving after Simon inherits command. An attempt to engage Adiane's undersea fortress, the Dai-Gunkai, fizzles when Twin Boukun proves to leak, forcing them to sit that battle out, but Leeron later mounts a compact Levisphere on the machine and grants it flight. The upgrade pays off at Teppelin, where the pair helps hold back the capital's swarm of Gunmen while Simon brings down Lordgenome.

Seven years on, the two head the Public Affairs Department as its directors, keeping count of humanity's numbers. The moment the tally reaches one million, the Anti-Spirals strike, and the brothers return to arms, receiving a new Space Gunman for the expedition into Anti-Spiral territory to rescue Nia. They never see the war's end. When massed enemy mecha ambush the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren, a feigned weakness catches the fleet off guard and cripples the Grapearls flown by Gimmy and Darry. The twins save both rookies by hurling the wrecked machines back to the mothership, leaving themselves exposed to enemy fire. They meet the barrage laughing, and the detonation of their Gunman erases a huge slice of the Anti-Spiral fleet, letting their comrades mop up what remains.

A sword stands for them in the epilogue, planted among the memorials to the team's dead.
