Kiyoh Bachika

Kiyoh carries a steadiness the rest of her family lacks. News of Kamina's death flattens the other siblings, but she answers it by deciding to take a Gunman's controls herself. Years later she is the one who talks sense into Nia, hearing out her reasons for turning down Simon's proposal and pushing her toward yes instead.

The Bachika siblings lose their home village before the story opens and turn to hunting beastmen on the surface. They meet Team Gurren by mistake, rushing to rescue Simon from what looks like an attacking Gunman during a training bout. Shortly afterward a hunting trip brings back a strange furry creature that proves to be a Beastman with sixteen faces, and its Gunman assault briefly buries three of the sisters under rock before they emerge unharmed. In Episode 6 the girls wander into a bath house that is itself a disguised Gunman, escaping its owners with Yoko's help.

Once the team takes the Dai-Gunzan, Kiyoh staffs its lower command room until that post is destroyed, then heads for the front lines in the Dayakkaiser after Dayakka moves to command from the bridge. She fights in the holding action outside Teppelin while Simon settles matters with Lordgenome, then cheers the victory with the rest.

Peace brings marriage to Dayakka and a pregnancy. Seven years on she counsels Nia through Simon's proposal, then delivers a daughter on the very day the Humanity Annihilation System wakes. Driven from the hospital by the attacks, she rides out the crisis aboard the Arc-Gurren, watching the space battle anxiously until Gurren Lagann's arrival lets her breathe again. She is on Earth when the Grand Zamboa bears down on the planet, blushing at Dayakka's battle cry naming her the finest wife in the universe, and she attends Simon's wedding, where Nia's disappearance leaves her stunned.

The manga introduces her earlier, during Team Gurren's stay in Littner Village, where she reveals that Viral razed the Bachika settlement.

Episode 6 establishes her as a capable fighter, breaking out of an enemy machine on her own. Behind the controls she serves as the Dayakkaiser's second pilot, holding her own through the Teppelin campaign.
