Dekabutsu

Dekabutsu is an immense Dai-Gun, larger than the Dai-Gurren and on the scale of the Arc-Gurren Lagann, that sits at the heart of Teppelin as Lordgenome's seat of power. Its name reads in Japanese as ordinary slang for a very large object. After it is brought down in the battle for the capital, the new government raises it again as Parliament Tower.

The giant is thickly built and crudely humanoid, standing on stubby legs beneath oversized arms. One hand splits into three fingers while the other terminates in a huge hammer, and both serve as its principal weapons alongside the vast swarms of Gunmen it can release. A tower on its head marks the docking berth for Lazengann, apparently raised around the smaller mech after it locked into place.

That tower gives Lordgenome an interface to steer the whole machine without sitting inside Lazengann. Dekabutsu also appears to broadcast power to allied units: Beastmen Gunmen normally go dark at night, as they did during the fight at Teppelin, and every Beastmen machine falls still the instant Lordgenome is beaten.

Lordgenome alone commands Dekabutsu. In his days as a Spiral warrior it fought the Anti-Spirals, with Lazengann docking into it much as Gurren-Lagann joins the Arc-Gurren, driving Cathedral Terra as its Spiral engine. After the Anti-Spirals revealed the coming Spiral Nemesis, he turned the machine on his former allies, wrenched Cathedral Terra into its towering humanoid shape, and destroyed them. The giant then settled on Earth and loosed legions of Beastmen-crewed Gunmen to crush humanity, gradually vanishing behind the hundreds of spires that grew into Teppelin City.

It lay dormant until Team Dai-Gurren reached the capital. With the generals Guame and Cytomander already beaten, Teppelin cast off its towers to reveal the Gunman underneath. Simon charged the head tower but was pinned by a single finger tough enough to stop a Giga Drill before flicking him aside, and Dekabutsu answered by loosing a fleet of Gunmen and Dai-Guns. Simon returned with the Dai-Gurren behind him, ramming and puncturing the hammer arm; the Dai-Gurren emptied its cannons inside the limb to carve a channel to the throne room and fired Gurren-Lagann through it before detonating its own hull. Once the Spiral King fell, the machine automatically shut down and collapsed. During the seven years of peace it was reshaped into Parliament Tower, seat of the new government with Simon's office at the summit, until the Anti-Spirals razed it to reach the Arc-Gurren.
