Minor Gunmen of Team Dai-Gurren

These are the machines ridden by the rank-and-file members of Team Dai-Gurren, the units that round out the squad behind Gurren Lagann and King Kittan. The core group covers Einzer, Kidknuckle, Twinboekun, Sawzorthn, and Mo-Shogun, each with its own pilot and quirks. All of them are believed destroyed once the human military switches over to Grapearls, yet Makken and Leyte quietly retrieve and maintain them, later fitting them with Spiral Power weaponry and building battleship-scale Space versions for the war beyond Earth.

Each machine plays a distinct role. Einzer, a green shark-headed unit striding on ostrich-like legs, works as a mobile rifle platform for Yoko, its back barrel swinging between cannon and thruster. Kidknuckle resembles a monkey that walks on its large arms while firing from small gun-tipped legs. Twinboekun is a two-faced Gunmen jointly run by the Bakusa twins from separate cockpits, each steering one half, which makes it unusable by anyone else. Sawzorthn is Zorthy Kanai's odd, squarish machine with no animal likeness, and Mo-Shogun, Makken's unit, takes the shape of a katana-wielding samurai. Their Space upgrades add rocket thrusters, heavier armor, and extra weapons, and in a final stand the Space Twinboekun detonates in a huge fireball to shield Gimmy and Darry.

Iraak Coeega pilots Einzer, Kid Coega the Kidknuckle, the twin brothers Jorgun and Balinbow Bakusa share Twinboekun, Zorthy Kanai handles Sawzorthn, and Makken Jokin rides Mo-Shogun. Beyond these named units, the Dai-Gurren Army swells with stolen and salvaged Gunmen crewed by ordinary humans who, inspired by Team Dai-Gurren after Guame's broadcast defeat, capture machines of their own and march on Teppelin.
