Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann

Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann, a name Simon gives it, is a gigantic battleship-class Gunmen roughly on the scale of the Arc-Gurren. Like its base vessel, it appears fleetingly in the first episode's prologue before its real introduction late in the third portion of the series. It is the transformed shape of the Spiral flagship Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren, once known as Cathedral Terra, Lordgenome's craft against the Anti-Spirals that later hid itself as the moon. When the final struggle with the Anti-Spiral demanded it, Simon poured out enough Spiral Power, bolstered by the will of those who came before, to fold the warship into a humanoid giant he titled the Transcendent Super Spiral Dreadnought Gunmen.

The machine stands about half as large as Earth and answers to a layered piloting scheme: Simon works Gurren Lagann, which drives the Arc-Gurren Lagann by copying his motions, which in turn steers Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann. Echoing the original Gurren Lagann, it wears a colossal pair of sunglasses on its chest formed during the change, plus a smaller pair on its head, and the two can be joined together.

Its vast frame lets it marshal enormous reserves of Spiral Power, so much that Lordgenome likened its potential to the scale of the micro cosmos. As with the standard Gurren Lagann, it can sprout drills from countless spots across its body at once and delivers a planet-sized take on the Giga Drill Break called the Super Galaxy Giga Drill Break, whose combined shoulder drills once wrecked an Ashtanga battleship in a single strike. It also fields thousands of cannons that emerge on the pilot's command from the treads of its drills, and its Mega Vortex Maelstrom Cannon can loose a barrage of beams across every reach of space, time, and dimension in the near past and future all at once.

Several named techniques round out its arsenal. Its Shoulder Drills detach and remount over its hands, stackable for a harder hit, while the Fingertip Drills skewer a foe and blow it apart. The Super Galaxy Mega Cutter flings the huge torso sunglasses like a boomerang, and Full Drillize sets every drill on the body into full spiral-cannon mode at once. The Multi-Cannon Shot fires omnidirectionally at every single point in space-time through probability control.

Simon and Viral share the cockpit of Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann during the war on the Anti-Spiral. The same vessel appears in another guise in Parallel Works part 8, set during Lordgenome's era as a Spiral Warrior, where the Cathedral Terra takes Gunmen form as Cathedral Lazengann to exterminate humanity; that version resembles Lazengann rather than Gurren Lagann, omits the star sunglasses, and is itself shown pulling off a Giga Drill Break, hinting the move is native to all Spiral beings.
