The Attack on Titan manga's fourth story arc, running through chapters 19 to 34. Freshly placed under Levi's command in the Survey Corps, Eren Yeager rides out on an expedition beyond the Walls, where an intelligent and unpredictable enemy, the Female Titan, waits for the formation.
The Female Titan arc (Megata no Kyojin-hen) occupies the fourth position among the story arcs of the Attack on Titan manga. Sixteen chapters make it up, numbers 19 through 34, collected in volumes 5 through 8, with serialization stretching from March 9, 2011 to June 9, 2012. The 104th Training Corps arc comes before it and the Clash of the Titans arc follows. Its English title is an unofficial translation of a name drawn from Hajime Isayama's own blog.
With the fight for Trost District decided, Eren Yeager is placed in the care of the Special Operations Squad, the elite unit answering to Levi, and formally begins his service in the Survey Corps. Preparations follow for a new expedition outside the Walls, and several of Eren's fellow graduates ride along. Beyond the safety of the Walls, however, a threat no one can predict lies in wait for the soldiers: the Female Titan. The arc opens with the chapter "Still Can't See" and moves through installments such as "The Female Titan," "The Titan Forest," and "Erwin Smith" on its way to the closing chapter, "Soldiers Dance."
Chapter 34 brings the arc to its end, and the manga presses on into the Clash of the Titans arc. Within the larger series, this stretch of chapters cements Eren's position under Levi's watch and introduces the Female Titan as a danger unlike the mindless giants the Corps has fought before.
