Shinichi Karube

Shinichi Karube voiced a sushi chef character modeled after himself in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. In a unique crossover between anime and reality television, Karube met with director Masahiro Hosoda, who showed him the character design. He participated in the recording session where his character's simple line, "it is called sushi," became a memorable moment in the film. The scene showcased a playful Kamehameha competition between Karube's character and a cameo appearance by Olympic gold-medalist Kaori Matsumoto.

Karube joined Fuji TV as an announcer in 1985, working on morning shows and entertainment programs for nearly two decades. He married in May 2004 and had a daughter born in January 2007, balancing his television career with family life while occasionally branching into voice acting work.
