Kiri (villager)

Of ordinary height and light complexion, she has violet eyes and dark hair cut so that short bangs cross her brow while longer pieces trail down beside her cheeks. Her outfit pairs a white top and skirt with a green vest, and she keeps her forearms wrapped in bandages finished with wrist-warmers.

In her father's lifetime she was a bright, admiring child who wanted nothing more than to grow into his equal. His death hardened her into someone withdrawn and self-reliant, certain that every burden was hers alone to bear. Working with Team 7 finally taught her the worth of putting faith in the people around her.

Raised by her father Tofu, the man who built the village's bridge, Kiri grew up idolizing his strength and wisdom. His sudden death left her to inherit his post, and soon the neighboring Pale Blue Valley pressed her to surrender the bridge's deed. Three months on, she summoned help from Konohagakure and welcomed Team 7, briefing Konohamaru that her rivals had hired ninja of their own. When an intruder killed a villager mid-meeting, she came clean about the deed, then was seized and carried off by Iori. She learned that Iori had poisoned her father on Pale Blue Valley's orders before his own hired muscle turned on and killed him. Those rogue ninja meant to trap Team 7 at the handover, but the genin freed Kiri while Konohamaru held the attackers off. Reluctant to give up the deed, she was moved when Boruto told her the whole village had chosen her safety over it, and she finally accepted that she need not shoulder everything alone. Afterward she apologized for her secrecy, vowed to be more open, and renamed the village rest stop in Team 7's honor, her people certain she would one day surpass her father.
