Appearance

Boruto stands short, his fair skin over a lean, well-built frame. Spiky blond hair frames his face in a shape often likened to a leaf, its stray ahoge standing in for the stem, and his blue eyes are said to shine brighter than his father's. Two whisker marks cross each cheek, a trait inherited from Naruto, and he strongly resembles him overall.

After Momoshiki brands his right palm, he bears the Kama, a black diamond seal. Growing older, he turns taller and lets his hair grow long across the left of his face, takes up Sasuke's scratched forehead protector, and gains lasting scars: a geometric Kama pattern across his chest and a diagonal slash from Kawaki that leaves his right eye blind.

Personality

Loud, spirited, and stubborn much like his father, Boruto even shares a verbal tic, dattebasa, that echoes Naruto's own. Yet he is craftier and more worldly than Naruto was at the same age, quicker with sarcasm and shortcuts, and blessed with talent and a loving home his father never knew. That easy success bred an inflated view of himself and a fondness for boasting, and early on he leaned on cheats and gadgets until the hollowness of such wins taught him to respect real effort.

Beneath the arrogance runs deep loyalty. He rushes to defend his friends, adores his mother and sister, and openly dreads angering the sister who once bested him. His bond with Naruto strained once the Hokage's duties kept them apart, leaving him resentful of the title, but after fighting Momoshiki he comes to admire his father and makes peace, choosing to support the Hokage rather than claim the seat himself. Three years of hardship harden him into a calm, focused young man who rarely smiles yet never turns his back on those he loves.

History

Born four years on from the Fourth Shinobi World War, Boruto is the elder child of Naruto and Hinata, with a younger sister, Himawari. His father's rise to Hokage left little time for family, and the boy acted out with pranks to win Naruto's attention. Enrolling at the Academy alongside the children of his parents' friends, he grew into an elite genin whose Uzumaki-Hyuga bloodlines and prodigious talent marked him as a possible rival to his father.

His defining turn came against Momoshiki Otsutsuki, whose defeat left the Kama seal on his hand and set his path toward the Otsutsuki threat. Mentored by Sasuke Uchiha, Boruto grew into the mark's power and stood against Kara, helping bring down enemies like Boro and, in the end, Isshiki Otsutsuki. The seal carried a darker cost, letting Momoshiki twist his body toward possession.

When Kawaki rewrote the world's memories, Boruto was framed for murdering his own parents and forced to flee Konoha as a missing-nin. Stripped of everything yet undeterred, he trains for years under Sasuke and later Koji Kashin, taking up his master's blade after Sasuke's imprisonment, and turns his power against the Human God Trees while vowing to prove his innocence and reclaim all that was taken from him.
