Overview

The alliance's warriors dress in dark garb that calls to mind martial artists. Their forms come across as monstrous humans, creatures poised somewhere on the line between man and monster. Only two of the nine ever appear on the page, and at least one of them, Rangor, can shift into a far more beastly state. Their shared purpose mirrors that of Deathbone as a whole: to bring the Cruel Dragon back.

Role

During the Cruel Dragon Arc, the alliance member Rangor ambushes a convoy of The Saints as it hauls one of the Cruel Dragon's sealing orbs. Saitama, who simply happens to be passing through, steps in and cuts him down. After a conversation with a member of Deathbone, Saitama resolves to collect every seal stone himself and revive the Cruel Dragon, reasoning that he can then destroy it on his own terms. Over the span of a single day he tours each ancient temple and gathers them all. Just before sealing the Dragon, he also defeats another unnamed warrior of the alliance. Once the Dragon is resurrected, Saitama kills it in an instant, finally ending the long rivalry between the two factions.

Notable Members

Only two of the nine warriors are ever shown: Rangor, who is slain by Saitama, and a second unnamed member whose ultimate fate is left uncertain. The alliance counts Deathbone as its ally and The Saints as its enemy. Its Japanese name points to nine warriors of the dragon alliance, a nod to the group's full membership.
