Episode 10: Until the Snow Melts

The tenth chapter of the series shifts its focus onto Yuki Yoshikawa and the pretend relationship she has kept up with Tooru Ishikawa. Word reaches her that the arrangement may be drawing to a close, and the prospect forces her to stop and take honest stock of the emotions she has been carrying.

What began as a convenient act no longer sits so simply for Yuki, and the possibility of the pretense dissolving leaves her weighing whether her attachment to Ishikawa was ever only for show. The installment stays with that inner reckoning as she confronts feelings she has not fully admitted to herself.

Yuki learns that the fake romance she shares with Ishikawa could soon be over. The news becomes the trigger for a spell of self-examination in which she is made to face what her heart actually wants, giving her arc a turning point rather than the group's usual comedy.

This installment of the Horimiya anime adapts material from Chapters 58, 59, and 61, along with part of Chapter 60. It first aired in Japan on March 14, 2021, followed by an English broadcast on April 17, 2021. Sawako Hirabayashi wrote the screenplay, while Yousuke Yamamoto handled both storyboard and episode direction.
