The episode threads three small storylines together rather than following one continuous plot. Remi Ayasaki looks back on the roundabout way that she and Kakeru Sengoku ended up as a couple. Elsewhere, Izumi Miyamura catches a glimpse of a version of Kyouko Hori that stays hidden from most of the people around her. The last strand starts when Yuki Yoshikawa is approached with romantic interest, which sends the circle of friends turning to Tooru Ishikawa for help.

Remi's recollection fills in the backstory behind her relationship with Sengoku and gives the pair some emotional grounding. Miyamura's peek at an unguarded Hori deepens the closeness between the two leads, echoing the way they have slowly traded their private selves. Yoshikawa becoming the target of a confession throws the group into motion, and their choice to lean on Ishikawa quietly pushes his own feelings toward her into view.

Sawako Hirabayashi handled the screenplay, while Ryou Kodama took charge of both storyboard and episode direction. Haruko Iizuka served as chief animation director, with Ryuu Miura credited on animation direction. The installment first aired in Japan on February 28, 2021, and reached English-speaking viewers on April 3, 2021. Its story is drawn from several manga chapters, using parts of 38, 43, and 70 alongside fuller adaptations of 39 and 44. It sits between the seventh and ninth episodes of the run.
