Titan, pressured by Mister Liu, sends Furnace and Kursk to break Multi-Paul out of Payton Penitentiary. Invincible and Kid Omni-Man crash the attempt, and after a rough scuffle the brothers put both criminals down and foil the escape.
Breakout Fail is a small but pivotal event in the third season, a failed prison-break attempt at Payton Penitentiary. Acting under threat from Mister Liu, Titan dispatches the villains Furnace and Kursk to free the captured Multi-Paul, only for the Grayson brothers to intervene.
Furnace and Kursk reach the penitentiary and begin tearing through the guards. Overhead, Mark tells Oliver to hang back and watch, but when Kursk blasts electricity at guards in a tower, Kid Omni-Man dives in to help despite his brother's protest. Furnace scorches Mark with a burst of fire while Kursk, spotting Oliver, hits the boy with an electric blast that knocks him unconscious. Recovering, Mark slams Kursk into a wall, then shatters Furnace's suit with repeated blows and throws him down atop Kursk, leaving the villain barely alive.
Once the guards have the pair restrained, the escape collapses and Mark and Oliver argue over the reckless charge. A news report afterward covers the thwarted break and notes that social media has dubbed the new Invincible look-alike "Invinciboy." The event sits during the Thragg Era in early 2024, following Turning Point and leading into the second assault on the Wyoming base.
