Battle Beast

Towering and heavily muscled, Battle Beast cuts an imposing lion-like figure covered in white fur, his mane worked into French braids down each side of his head. He dresses for battle in a black leotard trimmed with red shoulder pads, black arm warmers, and red toeless boots and gloves, cinched by a belt patterned in red-and-yellow checks. His feline features closely resemble those of Mokk, suggesting the two share a species.

An unquenchable hunger for worthy combat defines Battle Beast, a proud and arrogant warrior who dismisses lesser foes as beneath him and treats the weak with open contempt. His fighting is savage and ruthlessly efficient, and his craving for a true warrior's death borders on suicidal, driving him toward any adversary who might finally best him. Yet a rigid personal code tempers the savagery: he honors strength above all and refuses to bother killing those he deems insignificant, seeing no glory in slaughtering insects.

He revels darkly in violence and pain, licking an enemy's blood or mocking a hated opponent with offers of mercy, and his cruelty surfaces in condescending taunts and vicious grins. Solitary by nature, he will still strike temporary alliances when they promise battles worthy of him, as with his grudging partnership alongside Allen to hunt Viltrumites. Even stranded in the vacuum of space he fights on without pause, forever chasing the death that would lift the curse laid on him by the gods of Dorne.

As a Dornian, Battle Beast wields ferocity and raw might few species can match. His strength rivals and at times exceeds that of most Viltrumites; swinging an enormous mace with startling speed, he routs entire rosters of heroes, nearly kills an untrained Invincible in a single blow, and crushes Monster Girl between two boulders. After breaking out of a Viltrumite prison he tears a Viltrumite executioner apart in open space, and during the Viltrumite Cataclysm he overpowers the likes of Thula and Kregg before Thragg finally stops him.

His hide shrugs off punishment that would fell most fighters, and his stamina lets him wage prolonged battles without tiring. He moves fast enough to keep pace with Viltrumites, holds his breath and even hibernates in the vacuum of space, and brings razor claws and fangs able to pierce near-invulnerable Viltrumite flesh, all backed by senses sharp enough to catch any ambush. Ranked the second most skilled combatant in the universe, he masters every fighting system, adapts on the fly to an opponent's tactics, and excels with melee weapons, especially his golden mace. Lacking flight, he relies on a jetpack to move through space and carries a device for opening travel portals. His chief flaw is his own arrogance, which pushes him into rash acts such as turning on allies to test their strength or abandoning fights he considers beneath him.
