Attack on Talescria

After two grinding months of war drive the Viltrum Empire to the galactic fringe, a frustrated Thragg orders a strike on Talescria itself, brushing aside warnings about the capital's dense defenses. A traitorous Data Twin sabotages the planetary shields, letting a lone Viltrumite warship slip through and gut the Coalition Headquarters. Kregg, Anissa, and Lucan lead the ground assault as slave soldiers pour into the city.

With the defenders faltering, a healed Mark, Oliver, and Nolan arrive to turn the tide, sparing enslaved troops wherever they can. Mark and Oliver ultimately fly straight through the warship, splitting it apart, and the Coalition's strongest heroes hurl the falling wreck into space as the surviving Viltrumites retreat toward Viltrum.

The second Data Twin is unmasked as a long-embedded mole, and his loyal counterpart shoots him before Telia presses the survivor for intelligence. The captured traitor reveals that Thragg is regrouping on Viltrum for another attack once his forces return home. Invincible defeats Anissa with ease, a sharp reversal from their difficult first encounter. Thaedus dismisses the staggering losses as a minor setback, then resolves to carry the fight directly to Viltrum, setting up the war's climax.

The clash is one of the war's final major engagements and directly triggers the Coalition's preemptive assault that becomes Viltrum's Cataclysm. The comics instead credit Anissa, rather than the warship, with destroying the Coalition Tower. Battle Beast and Space Racer are the only major Coalition members missing from the fight. The formerly enslaved alien soldiers, abandoned on the surface, lay down their arms once the Empire pulls back.
