Season 1

The first season of Invincible premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 26, 2021, with its opening three episodes dropping together and the rest arriving weekly afterward. Running eight roughly hour-long installments, it adapts the early chapters of the comic. The story centers on Mark Grayson, an ordinary teenager whose father Nolan happens to be the planet's mightiest superhero. Soon after turning seventeen, Mark manifests Viltrumite abilities and takes up the name Invincible, training beneath his father while gradually realizing that Nolan's celebrated legacy conceals something far darker.

The eight episodes run from the premiere It's About Time through the finale Where I Really Come From, airing between March 26 and April 30, 2021. Steven Yeun voices Mark, with J.K. Simmons as Nolan, Sandra Oh as Debbie, and Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve heading the main cast. A deep supporting roster fills out the world, featuring performers such as Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Zachary Quinto, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, and Mahershala Ali as Titan. Amazon renewed the show for both a second and third season on April 29, 2021, well before the first run had even finished.

The season primarily draws from the first thirteen issues of the source comic, though it folds in threads from later material, including pieces of the Flaxan Invasion, Robot's cloning arc, Mark's mission to Mars, Titan's scheme against Machine Head, and D.A. Sinclair's ReAnimen experiments. This blending lets the adaptation seed storylines that the comics developed much later in their run.
