You Want a Real Costume, Right?

The third episode of the third season centers on Mark's effort to mold Oliver into a hero. It opens on Magmaniac and Tether Tyrant, whose bank robbery is foiled by Bulletproof and who briefly try to go straight before homelessness drives them back to crime; when they hit the same bank again, Mark and an eager Oliver step in. Determined to guide his half-brother, Mark takes him to Art Rosenbaum's tailor shop, where Oliver insists on the name Kid Omni-Man despite its painful link to their father, and Art fits Mark with a darker blue-and-black suit.

Their training is interrupted by news of an attack on Payton Penitentiary, and Mark orders Oliver to watch rather than fight. On the ground, Eve studies architecture and engineering part-time at Upstate University to sharpen her powers, and a friendly run-in with Amber clears the air: Amber already knows about Eve and Mark's relationship through William and is now dating Kyle. The rogue Guardians, meanwhile, settle into a modest new headquarters bought in Rudy's name.

Pressed by Liu of The Order to free the jailed Multi-Paul, Titan resists until Isotope warns that refusal could cost him his family and his city. At the penitentiary, Mark battles inmates like Kursk and Furnace while Oliver disobeys orders, charges in, and is hurt, earning a sharp reprimand. On the way home the brothers run into Debbie and her new boyfriend Paul, an encounter that briefly exposes their identities and saddles Mark with the nickname Invinciboy.

Later, the Mauler Twins threaten to detonate a nuclear device, and Mark intervenes despite the team split, carrying the bomb into space to defuse it. Oliver again follows against instructions and, left to face the Twins alone, loses control and kills them both in a burst of violence that deeply unsettles Mark, who sees echoes of their father in the act. As the night winds down, Angstrom Levy is revealed watching the house from the shadows.

A quiet rooftop scene lets Eve and Mark share their struggles after Eve confronts her parents with a demand that they accept her abilities, and both find comfort in having each other. The episode also nudges Rex and Shrinking Rae toward romance.

The title is lifted directly from the comics, spoken as Mark and Oliver head to Art's shop. This installment features the show's first stretch without dialogue or vocal music, and it recasts Titan with Todd Williams in place of Mahershala Ali.
