Coalition of Planets

Often shortened to C.O.P., the Coalition of Planets is an interstellar peacekeeping body devoted to halting the Viltrum Empire's drive to rule the universe. Its founder, the great Thaedus, guided it from the beginning. When Thragg killed him, leadership passed by his own wish to his most trusted lieutenant, Allen of Unopa. With the Viltrumite War won and the empire's grip on the galaxy broken, the Coalition turned its attention to shielding every known world from fresh dangers.

Rank within the Coalition climbs through several tiers. The supreme title of Great, also styled Wise, belongs only to Thaedus and his successor Allen. Below sit the Councilors who form the legislative council, the sole General Telia who commands its armies, the lone Captain Pikell, the rank-and-file soldiers, and the physicians who tend the wounded.

Against the Viltrumites the Coalition fields an array of countermeasures. The Scourge Virus, grown from Thaedus's own DNA, strips a Viltrumite of strength and invulnerability by crippling the immune system. Nolan's books, handed over by Invincible, catalog beings and weapons that can wound the race, among them the Rognarr beasts of the Savage Planet and Space Racer's Infinity Ray. The Gelderian-made Tech Jacket suit rounds out the arsenal, having once bested an evil Invincible variant. Scanning gear such as the Planet Scanner and the Coalition Scan Pad supports their research.

Thaedus founded the alliance and led it until his death, after which Allen the Alien took the helm. Telia serves as its general and Pikell as its captain, with Nolan among its members and figures like Invincible, Oliver Grayson, Tech Jacket, Battle Beast, and Space Racer standing as allies. Its base of operations lies on Talescria in the Virgo Supercluster.
