Humans are Earth's native ruling species and its main form of intelligent life, standing out for their inventiveness and stubborn endurance in a cosmos crowded with powered individuals and alien empires. What they lack in raw might they compensate for through technology and sheer persistence.

As a people, humans are a study in contradiction, capable of empathy, cooperation, and moral reasoning yet just as prone to fear, greed, and prejudice that spark endless conflict. They constantly weigh security against power and survival against conscience, a tension that only sharpens as more super-beings emerge. Biologically they are ordinary primates of modest physical ability, but their real advantage lies in flexible minds, creativity, and adaptability that let them build advanced tools, elaborate societies, and clever strategies beyond their bodily limits. Many display striking willpower and recover from severe setbacks against overwhelming odds. That resourcefulness comes paired with fragility, however, since human bodies break easily and fare poorly in any direct fight against sturdier creatures.

The species answers to many separate national governments and counts among its pure-blooded members figures like Debbie Grayson, Art Rosenbaum, Amber Bennett, Atom Eve, Cecil Stedman, and D.A. Sinclair, while Mark Grayson stands as its most significant human-Viltrumite hybrid. That hybrid link matters enormously: humans share so much of their genetic makeup with Viltrumites that a crossbreed can nearly match a full-blooded one in power. For that reason the Viltrum Empire has long ranked Earth as its prime target for conquest, an obsession that eventually fed into the Great Resurgence after their defeat in the Viltrumite War.
