The Angstrom Family (Alternate Universes)

Also called simply the Family, this group is a vast assembly of Angstrom Levy counterparts pulled together from across the multiverse so their knowledge could be gathered into one mind. Every one of them shares the voice of Sterling K. Brown, who also portrays the main Angstrom. Some of these variants had lived plain, unremarkable lives, while others, such as the Angstrom of the Corrupted universe or the one tied to the Golden Cape Mark, were thrown into warzone realities by the version of the hero native to their world.

When one Angstrom, later known as Portal Angstrom, discovers he can travel between realities, he conceives a plan to learn from his other selves, imagining that the combined experience, culture, and philosophy of his counterparts could let him see the whole of the multiverse and its every source of suffering. He collects many of them at a harbor warehouse, then aims to have them build a knowledge-transmitting encoder based on the designs of the Mauler Twins. To secure the twins' expertise, he breaks them out of prison and wins them over with the promise of a reality that worships them as gods.

By night the Maulers switch on the machine, warning that halting the process or removing the helmet would carry disastrous consequences. Once active, every gathered Angstrom is racked with pain while Portal Angstrom drinks in enormous knowledge at once. The plan unravels when his universe's Invincible arrives to stop the Maulers and shut the device down. Angstrom recklessly summons crueler Mauler variants who brutalize the hero, forcing him to tear off his helmet. The machine implodes, killing every Angstrom and the alternate Maulers save for King Mauler, leaving only charred bone by the moment the Guardians and the GDA reach the scene.

Portal Angstrom founds and heads the group, and he is one of only two survivors alongside the twin who becomes King Mauler. The rest are countless nameless variants of Angstrom, several of whom had witnessed the terrifying power of an Invincible firsthand. Their scorched memories brand themselves onto Portal Angstrom, seeding the deep hatred he carries toward every version of the hero and pushing him to strike at the Graysons afterward.
