Korotan D Chapter 4

While Kayano reviews the script, Jerome March presses her to join him in his trailer under the pretext of sharpening their acting, and she politely refuses more than once. He redirects his charm toward Yada and Kanzaki as they check props, but Yada rebuffs him too, and he moves on to flirt with Okuda. Karma intervenes, laying a hand on the actor's shoulder in warning before leading Okuda off, and later reveals he planted a durian-laced film on Jerome to leave him reeking. The girls collectively sour on Jerome, comparing him to Maehara's womanizing, and when Maehara objects, Okano answers with a flurry of kicks to his face.

A bruised Jerome spots a muscular stuntman named Rawan training with strikes. Cast as Jerome's double for the fight scenes thanks to his martial arts, Rawan becomes a target of Jerome's resentment, and Jerome challenges him. After mocking the stuntman's punches, Jerome is scared off by a high kick that halts just centimeters from his face, a display of skill that Terasaka notes. As filming wraps, Kayano heads to her trailer and again runs into Jerome, whose flirting is cut short by the director suggesting the three dine together. She declines to see her old classmates instead, and the director hauls Jerome away on his own. The class then rides tuk tuks arranged by Terasaka, and Kayano relaxes in the breeze alongside Karma, Nagisa, and Okuda; when Karma asks whether Nagisa worries about her working with Jerome, Nagisa's trusting answer leaves Kayano quietly deflated, and Karma privately notes how dense he is. Aboard a pleasure boat afterward, slow music prompts couples to dance, and after Maehara and Okano draw admiration, Kayano coaxes Nagisa onto the floor, matching her movements to his with quiet delight.

Jerome's advances on several classmates provoke Karma's durian prank and a general dislike of the actor. His challenge to the stunt double Rawan ends in humiliation, hinting at Rawan's dangerous skill. The chapter's emotional beat comes on the riverboat, where Kayano draws Nagisa into a dance even as his obliviousness to her feelings continues.

This is the fourth chapter of the Korotan D light novel. It deepens the Nagisa and Kayano subplot while planting Rawan as a threat whose combat ability will matter later in the story.
