Tohru's Male Cousin

Standing well above average, this cousin keeps black-framed rectangular glasses perched over eyes of a deep brown shade. His hair carries a bluish-black tone and stops around the nape, while two long fringes drop along his cheeks and meet in a shape resembling the letter M. For his single scene he pairs a green top with plain grey trousers.

On the surface he reads as composed, sociable, and diligent, a person carrying clear ambitions for what lies ahead. That polish falls away in how he treats Tohru, whom he addresses with careless, tactless remarks and a readiness to think the worst of her the moment she rejoins the household. Setbacks tend to draw childish, almost comic outbursts from him, a trait he plainly inherits from his mother.

His branch of the family meant to move in with Tohru's grandfather, but they delayed the arrangement until the house could be renovated, so the old man stayed with them in the meantime. Once the work was done, they settled into the refreshed home together, and Tohru left the Sohmas to return to her relatives. On her first day back, his mother admits she had hired investigators to probe the all-male household where Tohru had been living, worried that a criminal record could threaten her son's ambition of becoming a police officer.

When the cousin smugly asks whether anything improper went on there, his grandfather slaps him for the remark. After Tohru admits she would rather live with the Sohmas and her grandfather supports that choice, Yuki and Kyo turn up to collect her. Flustered by Yuki's striking looks, the cousin calls her Tohru-chan, only for Yuki to flick him on the forehead and dismiss him as a sleazebag, leaving both the young man and his mother thoroughly drained. A later remark notes that he spends New Year's Eve on a family trip to Hawaii.
