Standing as the anime's title entity, whose name translates to Heaven-Piercing Gurren Lagann, this giant is the last stage Simon's mecha reaches within the show, though the films hand that honor to its successor, Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Simon summons it by weaving his own Spiral Power together with that of his comrades during the climactic clash with the Anti-Spiral.

The result answers to no ordinary rules of engineering. Its body is continuously materialized energy, the same principle that spins a drill into existence, stretched to the width of a super spiral galaxy and bound together by the abstract hopes, regrets, and remembered futures of its crew. Databooks treat its true size as beyond measurement, a higher-dimensional being that never fully settles into the physical world. Were it forced into one, estimates place its height anywhere from roughly five billion to over a hundred billion light years, ranking it among the very largest robots ever drawn.

Its silhouette recalls the earlier Gurren Lagann, though far fiercer, its plating a mass of red draconic skulls lit from within by an endless burn of Spiral Power. Each skull marks a cockpit, the head wears a cleaned-up version of Lagann's helmet, and the chest sports a pair of purely decorative shades. In combat it grows drills across every surface after swallowing the Infinity Big Bang Storm, and it wields galaxy-scale copies of Yoko's rifle and the Enki blades. Signature moves include Dayakka's rope-swing throw, Artenborough's shower of drill-like missiles, and the power to conjure matter straight from Spiral energy. When Lordgenome burns himself down to the quantum level to absorb the enemy's ultimate blast, the surge pushes the machine toward its movie-only successor.

The whole of Team Dai-Gurren rides inside. Simon shares the head with Nia Teppelin, Viral occupies the torso, Yoko sits in one of the right-side limbs, and Leeron takes the left hip, with the remaining crew spread through the arms and legs in Lagann-style seats. Deep in the belly, the abdominal jaw bites down on the severed head of the Lazengann, sealing a revived Lordgenome at the controls within.
