Obladi Oblada

Character

A tiny rock insect from JoJolion, bound closely to the Stand Wonder of U. Barely larger than a coin, it fastens onto living skin and multiplies without mercy, spreading until it can smother a whole body.

Status: Deceased
Species: Rock Insect
First Appearance (Manga): JJL Chapter 105

Appearance

Obladi Oblada resembles a small round stamp ringed by little spikes, its edges dotted with tiny vents. The mark it presses calls to mind the paw print of a bear, and its underside carries several faint bumps.

When the creature reproduces, some ridges of that print fade away, and fresh copies seem to sprout from within its side spikes before locking on beside the original.

Abilities

The insect burrows into skin and hardens it, gripping so firmly that pulling it free is nearly impossible. Any attempt at removal makes the thing split apart, latch onto more surfaces, and immobilize the limb it clings to through means that go unexplained.

The harder a victim strikes back at whoever wields it, the more aggressively it climbs toward vital areas, gaining bulk until it can blanket a body from head to foot in a bid to kill.

History

Introduced in JoJolion, Obladi Oblada serves as a weapon of the Stand Wonder of U, and it later returns as one of that Stand's attacks in the game All-Star Battle R. Curiously, supplementary notes hold that it is not genuinely a rock insect at all.

Its profile marks the creature as deceased, its end dated to late September 2011 by way of drowning in a hospital pool.
