Three Sturm und Drang Brothers

The Three Sturm und Drang Brothers are a small-time villain trio who turn up in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. All three are grown men, and because they never appear out of costume, almost nothing is known about their faces or civilian lives.

Matching black bodysuits mark them out, each carrying a stylized S at the chest and paired with white gloves, a belt, and white boots that rise high on the leg. Their heads vanish under masks that leave only the mouth exposed. Three small details keep them apart: a number printed above the eyes of each mask, sunglasses in a different tint per man, and neckerchiefs colored red, blue, and yellow in brother order.

Their stated philosophy is that people are naturally driven this way and that modern society amounts to a cage penning in something wild. That reasoning covers a habit of snatching women's underwear, later widened to include men's.

The Quirk they share, Glide and Slide, lets their feet skate freely across whatever they stand on, and one point of contact is all it takes to work. Raw speed is unremarkable next to other sliding powers, so they compensate by pumping their legs the way roller skaters do.

Two team techniques build on that mobility. Slipstream Strip divides the theft three ways: the first brother lifts the skirt, the second takes the underwear, the third pulls it on. Hyper Tornado Strip is the upgrade, collecting several garments in a single pass and no longer limited to women, since men's boxers come off too.

They debut in the Vigilantes Beginnings Arc, working the city at night until The Crawler tries to reason with them about simply buying what they want. Knuckleduster ends the conversation with his fists, then checks their tongues for the blackening that would signal Trigger use and finds none. The trio resurface during the Vs. Queen Bee Arc doing the same thing, and Knuckleduster puts them down again before an angry crowd finishes the job. The anime softens them into skirt-flippers, cuts the Ultimate Moves from their debut, and keeps them to one episode plus a brief flashback cameo.

Brother 1 wears the red neckerchief and a goatee. Brother 2 takes blue and stands slightly taller and leaner, though the two are otherwise built much the same. Brother 3, in yellow, is the obvious outlier, considerably heavier than his siblings. In the anime the three are voiced by Satoru Ito, Yoshimasa Kawata, and Mitsuaki Kanuka respectively.

Their name nods to Sturm und Drang, the German literary movement that prized raw individual feeling over rational restraint, which lines up neatly with the brothers' complaint about a caged society. Shippudoto, the kanji behind their Japanese moniker, serves as the usual equivalent idiom.
