Wavygyaza

Wavygyaza reads as every bit the pop idol: a pretty young woman with wide, gleaming eyes and long pale hair cut in blunt bangs across her forehead, dressed up with headbands, beads, a tiara, and earrings. Her stage look pairs a frilly dress marked with a large W and knee-high laced boots, while a Neo Heroes battle suit stays tucked out of sight beneath the frills. The webcomic gives her a different outfit, trading the dress for a frilly crop top and skirt trailed by a big, ragged cape, her bangs gone and her lashes noticeably thicker and fluffier. Once she powers up for a fight, a pair of wings unfolds behind her and threads of lightning flicker around her body.

A born performer, Wavygyaza plays to her enormous fanbase and stages most of her hero work in front of the cameras. Ambition drives her: her envy of Sweet Mask ran so deep that she stepped away from stardom to reshape her body, and she keeps a short fuse, once cracking a wall with a single punch on learning that Sweet Mask was secretly a monster and had gone missing. Years of being used and betrayed in the industry left her guarded around people, though she lowers that guard with a few, notably Child Emperor, to whom she confides her past and her acceptance of a life tethered to Neo Heroes technology, regrets and all. For all her wariness, a warm and selfless streak shows through, and Sweet Mask's praise during the robot crisis moves her to tears and begins to melt the resentment she carried toward him.

As a Neo Leader, Wavygyaza ranks among the stronger heroes, and her overhaul left her dramatically more powerful. Chasing Sweet Mask's strength, she spent a six-month hiatus enduring heavy cybernetic surgery, unknown drugs, and risky brain operations, coming out with 71 percent of her body modified, a conversion that usually fails and that her unusually firm will let her survive. The changes hand her crushing strength, enough to split a wall or wreck a robot head that an A-Class hero's kicks could not dent, and her body runs so hot, around seventy degrees Celsius when exerted, that she constantly drinks water to cool off. She channels energy from her palms into projectiles, headlined by the heart-shaped Wavy~ Thunder that punched clean through a giant crocodile monster, and her repertoire stretches to energy-storm attacks, flight on butterfly-like wings, and a fire breath fierce enough to melt hardy robots. The brain surgery also supposedly woke a latent psychic power she has yet to show. Her Neo Heroes battle suit reinforces her muscles, reads her nervous system, and keeps her alive through a life-support system that can be knocked out if badly damaged.
