The ninety-sixth chapter opens the battle for Z-City as the heroes' strike team is swarmed by more than a hundred and fifty monsters, with Evil Eye and the newly promoted Rhino Wrestler leading the assault.
The strike team enters the deserted Z-City, where Child Emperor wonders where King has gone. Gearsper reveals that King slipped away to face the Monster Association on his own, wounding Child Emperor, who feels distrusted. Before the grumbling can continue, Zombieman senses danger and a mob of monsters, Evil Eye among them, encircles the group.
Evil Eye taunts the heroes over their thin numbers as Child Emperor tallies more than a hundred and fifty foes. The psychic, who explains he was once feeble before implanting eyes harvested from slain monsters, telekinetically lifts whole buildings and drops them. Tatsumaki throws up a barrier for herself yet leaves the others to fend off the falling rubble, forcing Puri-Puri Prisoner and Superalloy Darkshine to shield several support heroes. Furious at her indifference, Sekingar confronts Tatsumaki, but she shrugs him off.
When Evil Eye threatens to carve out the eyes of Tatsumaki and her sister for his experiments, she rounds on him, and a whirlwind erupts as the wider melee begins. The lower-ranked heroes display their specialties, from Twin Tail's Death Loop and One Shotter's marksmanship to Green's chlorokinesis and Shadow Ring's ninjutsu. Sekingar even fires a laser from his mechanical eye, confessing his dream of heroism despite failing the exam. Then Rhino Wrestler charges in, raised from Tiger to Demon level, coldly scoring each hero's attacks while Gyoro Gyoro observes through a spy drone.
